Verdant Shroud - Domain of the Beasts

Sep 12, 2025

Welcome to the Jungle

The Verdant Shroud is an untamed expanse of dense tropical jungles in Elyrion and remains one of the world’s greatest enigmas. It is covered by canopies of dense trees and labyrinthine thickets where nature reigns supreme and untouched by the grasp of the other world powers. Despite its bountiful natural resources, the terrain is perilous due to the myriad of monstrous beasts that roam unchecked.

Yet, the Verdant Shroud is not devoid of civilization. Hidden among the trees are the Sylvans — tribal wood elves that blend seamlessly with their surroundings — and the Kitsune who wield powerful magic and inhabit various secluded strongholds in the region. These societies have hidden settlements spread across the treacherous landscape and their intimate knowledge of the jungle allows them to coexist within this dangerous land.

The Inhabitants

Sylvan Trainee

Sylvans, with their pointy ears and harmonious nature, reside in treetop villages and canopy tents. They are renowned as expert hunters and assassins and possess unmatched skill in navigating the perilous terrain, utilizing their innate light step and mastery of camouflage. Their villages are concealed by a mixture of technical and natural means — mist generators, light reflectors, and foliage.

Kitsune Blademaiden

Kitsune, notable for their fox tail and ears, live hidden within the caves and mountains of the forest. The Inagaki Clan is a notable faction of Kitsune nestled deep within the mountainous cliffs of the Verdant Shroud. Their hidden strongholds are known only to a select few who dare to traverse the perilous terrain. They are known for their powerful magics and illusion trickery employed to ward off intruders. Their society breeds honorable warriors following a codified lifestyle — all to uphold the sanctity of their people.

Monsters and giant beasts roam unchecked. Some are tamed; others not so much. Even the plants are alive, so watch out for the vines and hazy pollen clouds. These creatures and living plants are just looking for their next meal. One of the primary reasons the Verdant Shroud hasn't yet been colonized by major super powers like Valrath Dominion, Republic of Concordia, or the Aetherion Empire is because of the local inhabitants viciously fending them off with the full support of nature's own repellants.
